My first was an unplayable piece of crap Lori with an "accidental" zero fret that I bought at Sam Goody in the late 70s.
My favorite? Depends on the day.

I have a Dean Z bass with P/J pups, Fender MIM Standard Jazz with SJD-3 Quarter, and the strings too.
My ideal bass would be a hybrid, Jazz body and neck, with P/J pups, I prefer the shape of the Jazz different pick-ups.

OT-NON "bass players"- what bass do you own? I use a cheap LTD B-50 which is actually up there with the Ibanez Soundgear I used to use. Either that, or I`ll use Trillian and let John Petrucci pluck the notes for me.
