Has anyone here used any of the DIY refinishing kits??
I have found a couple online that are reasonable priced, but looking for some real experience with them.
any threads that I have read on the subject are around 2yrs old, so I am hoping that i might...

Reason, that's not an option and you don't need perfection...the DIY kits are sufficient.

What kind of paint do you use?
I love the idea, but have visions of the grout getting all kinds of stained, etc.

Thought I'd pass on some recipes and things I do to save money, live more healthfully, etc. If you have recipes or good ideas on DIY things, would you please post them?
I'd rather have nice meats, good butter, and cream, than quite a few other things....

I got this idea from the python siphon that hooks up to the sink. It uses a venturi to create the siphon. I wanted to make siphoning easy, so that I would actually do it, and not have to do a water change at the same time. I tee'd off my return pump, ...

A while back I found a great headlight polishing DIY on here, and the OP's results were fantastic heard of anyone else who had.

So I took out the "guts" of a standard strip light, screwed a couple holes in the back for wiring and such, and turned a 30inch tube fixture into a 4 CFL bulb fixture. Went from like 20 watts to 92 watts (4x23w bulbs). Worth taking the 30 mins to build...

That said I had heat in a DIY PVC (graded for high pressure) fixture and the 23 and 22W left a pretty dark burning mark options when you are dealing with a flat....
Between bright white painted and millar reflectors (both were DIY I think).

So I finished my bg, followed all the instructions, made sure I washed the pieces to lower the PH, cycled the tank and introduced the fish. 5 out of 8 fish died and 2 out of 5 seem paralyzed from one side of their body...I had some guppies and platys ...

You able to do the tap water rinse? The DIY article recommends 3 x 3 days for a total of 9 days the PH.
