And I like the Cerry Grove....
If you can think outside of the Myrtle Beach box, just north (about right on the beach may not be as easy, there are plenty of places to stay within close distance + years.
Commercial and more family-friendly.

Not sure if there was a speed limit on the beach or dirt roads but it felt on the beach or dirt roads but it felt like you were going at a walking speed most of the time.
But dam you drive slow.

I am thinking of visiting Myrtle Beach area this summer with my husband and kids and was wondering what the difference is between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. Can anyone suggest a medium size beach front family hotel/resort? Thanks.

It is located in Myrtle beach.
The resort is 32 acres gated with private security, volleyball, beach bar, gaemrooms, etc.
My unit is at the Myrtle Beach Resort.

What I have found in my 30 years of traveling to Myrtle Beach virus North Myrtle is that there will be crowds of people in both areas if you go between....

IMO, you would have a much more relaxing day going to Eagle or Palm Beach.
It's very small and it's right by the airport.
Curious as to why you want to visit this beach.

Just got back from Kingscliffe Beach Caravan Park (northern NSW) and was astounded at the beach erosion which was caused last year.
