I didn’t realize that smoke detectors had a ten year life span. I read it somewhere (maybe here?). I checked mine and they say on them “replace in 2004”. So, I bought some new ones. FYI

Exactly when the sensor unit will not be any good (simply testing the detector by pressing the test button only tests two things—that the detector has a power source and the audible alarm works.) A proper test requires a calibrated smoke....

I don't have an APC but when my UPS starting beeping (with alerts
disabled) it was because the battery condition....
It's the UPS and not a smoke detector beeping at you...

I often think that a big problem with a lot of detector Minelab did not invent....
But a detector will still beep on gold if it can electronically in promoting the mods for their own financial gains.
And the performance will increase.
