Some one suggested spraying water on my dog when hes silly, is this mentally ill behaviour? okay so i don't want to smack my dog or anything, and someone suggested spraying him with water when hes silly, he does things like weeing on the couch and humping...

You want to rid the dog of unwanted behavior, and calm him down, but if you are not calm, then you are not going to get the dog to calm down....
Then you will get a frustrated dog, if you are tense, then you have a tense dog.

Hello Alan, you don't say if you know of any of your dogs history prior to you getting him, it could be that he was teased or had to compete for food or was simply shown no boundaries.

You don't for a normal walk in Heel mode, b/c the dog isn't allowed to look around or for people who don't understand....
I believe it started with hunters, who needed the dog to walk predictably and away from the gun.
