OK, I can't seem to comprehend the fundamentals of SS benefits. I hope someone can get me started. I am 56 (born 1956); my wife is 41 (born 1970), so my FRA is 66-4 and hers is 67. I make quite a bit more money than she does, so my benefit would be larger...

If the widow claims survivor benefits at (or after) her FRA, the benefit will be equal to:
1) the deceased spouse's benefit.
