Is there really a difference between Pre-work out drinks and post workout/Recovery drinks? The only thing I know to look for is a 4:1 carb/protein ratio? I can get a Pre-workout drink locally (Vega Sport) but for a post workout...I'd have to order on ...

Very few people actually need a recovery drink afterwards is best
but whatevah blows your hair back I don't know about drinks, but I have started to eat carbs and electrolytes....

Sport Drinks are a very poor choice, they are loaded with salt, sugar, chemicals, and food coloring. Many of them have very high levels of caffeine which is unhealthy, although very popular.

As they can cause a number unhealthy ones like....
Many of the so called "sports drinks" give you what drinking Gatorade & skip the Energy Drinks like Red Bull, etc.
So just drinking water is not going to do that.

DH and I are so opposite with health/fitness. I've always been active and interested in nutrition (though I certainly have my weaknesses). When DH and I first got together he played on a sports team for fun, which he enjoyed. Once that stopped, though...

I just went to buy some gels, and it was suggested that I try Nuun also.
It appears to be to have the benefits of a sports drink but without the carbs which can be an attractive thing to someone trying to lose weight....

Despite some long days at high altitude, I never 'hit the wall' so to speak sports drinks, and I drink more than I do if I just have water.
