If we count the births by the race/ethnicity of the parents, the picture is a little different:
Of 252,537 "mixed race" births....
As they say.
Asian and mixed-race births made up 50.4% of new arrivals in the year ending in July 2011.

Not a big deal on the fact alone. But what is interesting, to me is that minorities are only 36% and whites are 64% of the population.
The second interesting point is that this is aided, in part, due to influx across our southern border.
