Hi guys.
Noticed today my Degu's been biting her own tail any time it twitches, letting out a yelp of pain when she bites it. No blood, wounds or loss of hair noticeable but she seems quite irritated by something. Gave her tail & hind quarters a thorough...

Dont worry too much about the tail biting, one almost biting me ....
Once this is confirmed as well as putting in a few new bits and pieces .
And to make sure there isn't a physical reason she is biting at her tail area.

My pup who is just over 9 weeks keeps biting his tail, he has had his first lot of jags, and something called stronghold, will this stop ?

If you don't want him to bite his tail then redirect him onto a toy, make a loud noise (yelp) to show he.

Hello all. I have a 8 year old lab that scratches alot. Back n the fall she lost most of her hair around her rump and the base of her tail. At the time she was an outside dog sharing a yard with another lab and a beagle, of which doesn't have this problem...

What you are describing sounds like mange a skin disorder that needs to be treated by a vet, or allergies to food which also needs to be addressed by a vet .
Please take your dog to the vet...
