I have a couple of squeeze bulb blowers, but the ones I see on the B&H site look really effective! The Giotto Rocket blower comes in 7.5" large, 6.6" medium, and a 5" small. And then there's the Hurricane blower in more than one brand.
Any favorites or...

Don't know--will they still do a good enough job? I would say that... .
It's quite effective; if I squeeze the bulb too far, the blower collapses and the nozzle bends sideways..
I use a regular squeeze bulb blower to clean my cameras' sensors.

Did you reuse the original pulleys? That also affects the RPM of the auger/blower.
Blowing snow with a medium load the blower will just randomly lose power and stalls if I don't let up are a factor, too.

Pros: Very compact design,easy start and great to handle. Cons: Nothing to dislike at this point in time Overall: A very well balanced, good looking and easy to start low cost machine. Can be purchased for under $100 if you know where to look.

Failing that, x-contact / relief....
I've had a similar problem and found the ignition switch to be faulty with the exact symptoms you describe, wiggle the key in the switch after you started the car to see if they do come on .

I use an air blower to dust the inside of my PC every few months. I keep the PC fans from turning when doing this to avoid turning them into dynamos and possibly causing damage to the electronics. I've been using this technique for years without problem...

As stated, a electric blower can have static issues.
That blower would not be a good idea to use a compressor.
There's no real reason to create a hurricane in there .
