Any idea how much gas a pilot light on a gas fireplace uses in a year?

Window to the fireplace slightly. Some top-end fire place inserts will have an air feed
like they carry primarily gas fireplace blower kits, but I know certain blowers fit both...
Look into purchasing a blower for your fireplace. They are readily available for gas and wood

House we bought has a Superior BC-42 fireplace. I just realized that there is a blower underneath
a cord plugged into an outlet underneath that was installed as part of the fireplace installation
worthless" with gas logs? Isn't the idea that the blower draws the heat from the fireplace (above

Not have a blower. It will heat from 35,000 to 52,000 btu's.
Will this unit still give me a lot
was patterned after a Rumford fireplace with the tall, square viewing area so you get a lot
flame height control but no fan. Either fireplace runs off their Intellifire IPI ignition system

There are radiant heaters (wood burning and other), pellet stoves, fireplace inserts, and heat-return
fireplaces.
Geothermal systems and solar heaters are a couple of pricier, whole system replacement options
foundation.

I'm looking into a gas log for my fireplace. Where I live we already have spare the air days where
is there are 2 types of gas logs, vented where the flue is opened just like burning wood and the flame
an expensive system with blowers etc. My fireplace already has a gas starter plumbed in with a control...

Thinking about using my fireplace some this year (gas prices etc.) but it has no outside air supply
to the fireplace? And drawing cold air into the house for combustion probably makes the fireplace

Issue:
- Smokey smell from the fireplace when
