I'm careful with my games, so none of my DVD or blu ray discs have wear and tear or scratches, but I have seen plenty of used game discs from used game stores. I don't like buying used, and I only do so when a game is hard to find new or sort of rare....

Blu-Rays will last much longer then DVD.
I doubt you'll hear many people say otherwise.
Blu-Ray is much better then DVD.
One of the most positive advantages to BR.

A couple of years ago, there was the question who would be the successor of the DVD, the Blu-Ray disk or the HD-DVD. Now in 2009 I have to admit that I don't know why Blu-Ray won. Can anyone help me?

I can't believe Win7 doesn't have Blu-Ray support yet. Having plugins open in the background breaks the 10Ft experience. PowerDVD (came with blu-ray player) is unusable from the couch.

I have a FlipVideo 720p version which from what I see creates files in MP4 / H.264 format. All I want to do is take those files, which have all the same settings, and make a Blu-Ray player playable Blu-Ray disc from them....

Does anybody have an opinion about backing-up servers on blu-ray disks?
I always have a security backup on disks, and I already switched from DVDs to DVD-DL a few weeks ago, but I have 3 double Layer DVDs to burn every week... I was wondering...

That Blu-ray disks are about as reliable as regular DVD - certainly not significantly better or worse or less reliable the actual burning process is for Blu-Ray vs DVD.

Although there is no way to play blu-ray movies with HDCP at all as of yet.
The only way to play blu-ray movies in OSX is with VLC as previously mentioned.

If you go to "My Computer" can you actually EXPLORE a blu-ray disc? If so, your what video card and monitor you....
For Blu-Ray, as far as the drive itself, you really just need one that will actually READ the discs if software is installed.
