Is their anyway to get rid of the favicon box completely in the address bar (not just the favicon) and also those annoying blue boxes that appear when you connect to some secured websites (see below for examples)?

I just got both the "Atlantic Rhythm & Blues 1947-1974" and the "Chess Blues" box sets (I was only going to get "Chess Blues" but Amazon.com recommended the Atlantic one along with it), and they're both some of the best music and most well done box sets...

Got 'em both and I agree with you.
The Chess is a killer but after I got done playing Wolf and Chuck Berry sets are must have .

In the mean time, I think I've come pretty close with this mix of Vert Reseda and Daphne Blue.
How about Diamine Steel Blue? I'll look into that geoduc.

I am wondering if there is some way to make an box have the Safari's light highlight all of the time. I would assume there would be a way to replicate this, however I have not found one.

For your example you'd probably want something like this:
box-shadow: 0 0 can remove Safari's blue outline....
Take a look at this page for more info.
Of some CSS3 styles such as box-shadow which will work in Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

I have a scanned image which is basically black print on some weird (non-gray) background, say, green or yellow (think old paper).
How can I get rid of the green/yellow and receive a gray picture with as much of the gray structure of the original image...

The histogram should have two peaks representing the background....
But the general algorithm is something like this:
Finding the background color: You make a histogram of the image .
I am more of C++ than python programmer, so I can't give you a code sample .
