Here are a couple dyno's of early E9x M3's who had their software updated to 213E by venders and netted 20+ HP!! This could explain why newer cars seem to dyno better than 2008/2009 cars.

Bad (1-2 hrs), BUT if there's any damage to a module during the program, BMW will not cover the update done under the warranty.
