I want to make my parachute anchor removable, similar to a reciever hitch. I looked in the NHRA rule book, and I can't find an answer either way. Does anybody know if it's acceptable to slide a tube into a sleeve and secure it with 1/2" bolts?

I found some pictures of what I'm trying to do .
1/2" bolt is the minimum size so ya your on the right track.
No different than bolting it to the frame.
Just pin it in the receiver.
I think the laundry basket can be removable..

That's the thing about slide bolts ....
bolts to hold that in place? Seems easier.
Just wondering what the difference would be in the structure of the 92+ tops compared to the earlier ones without the shoulder harness. I would think there has to be some support there. Also, does the inside of a lined top appear the same as the unlined...

A '90 top I am thinking of grabbing for a project has no headliner threaded insert .
If the 78 tops came with bolt cover trim on the sides and top row of bolts? There is a bronco at my headliner in the removable top.

I think (if using nut n bolt....
If using M10 or M12.
The issue with bolts really is the tensile strength and the amount they will stretch.
Whilst I realise that a M12 bolt will carry more than this the actual requirement is far less.
