They did not release much energy when they formed and so not much energy is needed to break the molecules back apart .

I understand that if IR go up, then the existing - outstanding bonds are worth less. However wouldnt a fund like the total bond market (BND) actually go back up over time, as the rates are higher thus more return?
Can some of you experts help me understand...

Having spoken to a number of advisers over the past month they are all advising bond laddering rather than bond funds at this time. I understand their rationale i was just wondering what others are thinking on this subject.
