Well I don't think most universities will have a list of every book used for CS is going to depend....
If you can get a book list early before trouble finding any.

Ruby aka "The Pickaxe book" by Dave Thomas is definitely worth your money if you want to have a good) - I find the book not very successful at actually teaching Ruby and the Rubyisms that exist.
