It goes into depth on new features from D2009 and assumes you're already ....
It seems you can write a book about Delphi on your own :) First thing that comes to mind is Marco Cantu's Delphi 2009 Handbook .

Nearly every (relatively) new book about c programming I've seen doesn't seem to adhere to the C99 standard, or they cover it in an extra chapter. Comming from a Java background, the C99 standard made the migration (well, still migrating ^^) much easier...

With a basic grounding in SQL surely a 'getting started book' wouldn't add any value but perhaps that's just me :) For a relatively new developer "A First Course in Database Systems out with SQL, I would recommend Head First ....
