Can Darwin Bootloader boot another disk?
No, only the first 4 partitions where Darwin is installed.

So for ubuntu grub takes over after chameleon the boot loaders and partitions so it sees that windows is sda2 with that partition and all it duz is boot....
That boot loader and then the boot loader takes over.

Everything works now but the current active partition is 4, which I want to format. If I select any other drive to be active, Vista won't boot.

Typically, the drive or partition that is set active on PCs is the first partition... .
As active prompts the PC at boot to seek the MBR on that partition for the boot loader that the OS(es the boot loader information there.
