Hello!
I have some kinda basic question to the boot process of a computer and the part where the bootloader calls the OS.
So I know that the BIOS copies the first 512 bytes from a bootable drive into memory and executes the code - so that's the boot block...

I have a question about subj function of BIOS. In LBA packet for BIOS call there is a place for 64-bit number of sector to read. Do modern BIOSes will actually read sectors beyond 2Tb (32-bit number) limit? Did anybody try this?

Are you connected to a domain, do you have network drives/folders, these things can slowdown boot drives/folders, these things can slowdown boot times if its waiting for a response from the server devices for a fast boot time only....
