Basically, the problem is when you have more than 3 gb of ram (some says 2.5 gb) and AppleVIAATA, JMicronATA, AppleNForceATA or AppleATIATA driver.
In my case, I've got 2 IDE HDD and when I upgraded to 4 gb of ram, my desktop started...

I've had my install of the iATKOS v2.0i Leopard 10.5.2 working with jmicron controller but....
I've through it when I try to boot into OSX.
Removed the JMicro.kext and I get a circle with a slash through it when I try to boot into OSX.

On the BOOT menu screen press f3 and ensure the first hard drive is above the second, at the moment its not being detected and the second hard drive has no OS on it, hence the attempt to PXE boot.

To do this I will have to get my camera out into tomorrow to do that... .
However, I would boot verbose first and take a shot of what happens I approach that disk (Ignore caches, verbose, standard boot, etc.
To correct any filesystem issues.

DVD drive connected (SATA or ATA)? What chipset do you use (JMicron, ATi nVidia)? You can try, just let the thing boot for about 20 minutes.

I haven't started a poll before. I'm trying to keep the poll as simple as possible, and I'll let the voters decide what "serious" means. Personally I would regard "serious" in this context as "not getting half the performance I ought to" or regular freezing...
