Did you check the CV joints and boots? Were the hubs new or used? Were the bearings fully seated and boots.

I can't open my MGB Roadster bootlid despite the lock and key operating correctly. I suspect that the screw holding the release mechanism has loosened or come out completely. The rear bulkhead is solid therefore there is no access to the lock from inside...

I have worked with a Nashville steel player, years back. These guys are just as "anal" about how their rig sounds as we guitarist. They are master tweakers to boot. (If you know the mechanics involved in a dual neck, pedal steel guitar!)

I have almost no compression in cyllinderss 6 & 8. Could be a head gasked, valves, etc. I can't afford to take it to a dealer, and I am not that comfortable pulling heads myself.
