Anybody know what barrels are used for Bourbon County or Bramble Rye Bourbon.

What do you look for in a good bourbon? Not so much interested in the brand you like, just the typical proof, palate and bouquet aspects. what hints do you find most appealing?

These are more the ideas I'm looking....

My ideal bourbon would be over 100 proof with some vanilla, toffee, and oak in the nose as well it is but crafting the same old bourbon is a little tiring.

You don't have to start with Jack and Jim if you don't want to, and you shouldn't start with George T. Stagg or Pappy 23, even if you can. Here are ten bourbons, each from a different distillery...

Bourbon HAS to be barreled and aged in Kentucky.
Jack is not a bourbon - since it it made in Tennessee and not Kentucky and it is a sour mash style.
We have 3 of those here most of the time .
