Windows 8 dropping the ability to play DVDs Found this and if true have microsoft made one big cockup?
DVD is starting to go the way of the VHS tape and film reel. But we've still got hundreds of DVDs in our house, and always pack a few in our laptop ...

Oh, we'll still have DVDs and Blu-rays around for a few more years, but they'll eventually give way to purely digital copies of movies that live on your hard...

Also, yes "only" 18.4 mil use consoles, but 360 is the leading platform overall according.
I'm old school and just watch movies on The Movie Channel or DVDs/BRs, but it makes apparently.

Do consoles/games such as xbox 360, PS3 have regions similar to DVDs meaning like UK game wouldn't work in the US?

Most, not all, online games are NOT region locked in terms of who can play being unable to play against NTSC games ....
It DOES NOT effect xbox-live/PSN play though, so if its over the net, and people are NOT region locked.

I bought a X-Box 360 Pro for $100 off of craigstlist instead of experimenting on my X-Box 360 Elite.
Here's how I modded mine. If you have a 64-bit Windows 7 OS and a BenQ, it should take you around 30 minutes to mod your 360 if you follow my directions...

With a modded X-Box you can rip your game to the computer, then burn it to a blank DVD and play back-ups of games like Halo another one.
You'd have to exchange it or buy another one.
Or is scratched up beyond belief.
