DVDs are still selling well, I don't think enough people care about resolution another console cycle off....

Once I got decent broadband, I was suddenly faced with an all-you-can-eat-buffet of games to download and play of it as possible.
A similar thing happened when I discovered that the Dreamcast could play CDRs.
