Car brakes "slip" while idling?
May 27, 2012 5:15 AM Subscribe My car's brake pedal slowly depresses almost all the way to the floor while my foot is resting on it at a stoplight. It never used to do this. What's going on?

This is likely why your lesser used car has more brake wear even "bad habits".....
C clamp, tire iron, car quickly off before the pads work again.
As one brake pad change at a auto shop and then you can do it yourself forever.

USually, cheaper brake pads do not include these bits ....
A proper brake job requires that the correct damping pads and shims be used.
Generally brake squeaks are a sign of a poor brake job having been done some time earlier.
