Currently the biggest disadvantage with dslr filming is if you want....
You can get much shallower depth of field anyways which will let you use the lenses made for dslr cameras.
The secret is in the lenses.
I suggest going with a dslr.

I don't think a budget of S$1500 will get you a d7000 body....also consider that you have to include the cost of a lens in your budget...
