I steered my brother away from that as I believe the lens cost makes them poor value used or £90 new, the 55-250 f4-5.6 is actually a corker of a lens for the relatively cheap price and pick up another lens in time.....
Level Nikons.

The quality won't be as good as a true fish eye lens, but it won't ....
You might consider a cheap fish-eye adapter for your kit lens.
While a fish-eye lens can be fun...most photographers wouldn't use it for more than a couple shots.

A 'budget' plastic 50mm f1.8 lens for....
We should look at the total cost of ownership.
For that price you really get a cheap feeling lens printer price but expensive ink cartridge.
A much better in hand feel than the Canon 50mm f1.8 .

Ideally, we'd each just carry a 35 and a 135, but the 135 is too expensive to justify right now so... .
Now that we've got both D700s, we're aiming for a minimal lens setup.
We'll see.
lens will either be a 50/1.8D, a 50/1.4D, or the 85/1.8D.
