I would think a college student's development.
Doing open source and making money would be pretty hard as a college student, since people who make money on open source are typically providing support.

It is quite conceivable to earn a bonus when your Unit or Company actually loses money.
I have done it in the past. You will be set a target which says for example you are budgeted to lose £100,000 for a particular unit.
If the Unit only loses £50,000...

The ethos is that people will just give up if they have no chance bonuses when the company loses money, otherwise what's the point of having targets if your getting a bonus anyway, I'm all for bonuses ....
