Better wireless router or repeater?

You can try some large antennas or directional panel one and point them up, that will help. If you pick up a new router I would suggest the dlink DGL-4500 it's a very nice router and you can plug a USB drive into it and share it across your network. source

Router Tables, can the guys that know help me out?

I'm down to waiting on the Arrival, I went with the RT1000 Magazine special, Yes I could build one, but not for the cost of buying that one, and it "looks" to have everything I'm after. Normally I'm all for build it if I can, but I'm in the middle of a project that my present bench top router is more frustration then I'm willing to bear. Favorite router bit brand?

I switched to Freud bits a few years ago and like them lots better than the odd ball collection I'd been using. It is an intersting question and one that I've wondered about, too. source

Do I really need to secure my network?

If your router isn't secured, people can not only access your network but your computer too. There's free software that can be downloaded and they can snatch your passwords. There's even videos on You Tube that show you how to do it. I saw a security expert demonstrate it on our local news a few months ago. source

Outage at the Planet?

The main website is loading fine for me but 2 servers that I manage that are hosted there are both down. I have heard of many others experiencing the same problem. source
