Sorry, I've REALLY been struggling with what I (we) want the past few days, and I feel like we need to make some decisions here, soon. (we don't HAVE to, but I feel we should)

Granted we did have a service or viewing aren't going to be in a place physically or mentally... .
We had it in the chapel in our church as an FYI that are funeral home waved all fees for us.
We had a small funeral mass (we are Catholic).

Obviously this a very personal decision with no rights or wrongs. We're just facing the possibility of making this decision, and we're all over the board on what to do, if anything, as far as a "formal service."

There wasn't a viewing or a formal funeral service.
Was cremated, and we did a very small ceremony.

How do you deal with it? I lost my grandfather last week and after I got back from a few days in Ireland for the funeral I had to explain to my kids why they wouldn't see great-grandad again. It wasn't very straightforward - it's hard enough as an adult...
