Chester Zoo Butterfly House
I know what you're thinking: oh god, not more zoo photos. Well, I did warn you..
Anyway, these are from the butterfly house in Chester Zoo. Most of them are taken using a Raynox DCR 150. No flash or anything, we were lucky...

Hi all - Heres a butterfly house l built when l was a young 33 back in 1994 was rearing UK butterflies for a breed and release programme did really well had 12 species including a small colony of french emperor moths that bred for one generation..

Are these butterfly eggs? I noticed this butterfly on the tree outside my house yesterday, and at that time it didn't have any eggs above it, today when I went outside I noticed the butterfly had not moved but now there appears to be eggs above it.

Looks like it to me.
That's actually a moth, but yes those are eggs.

We've kept lunula, auriga, vagabundus, kleinii, blackburnii, dolosus, xanthocephallus....
Fortunately mushrooms reproduce most likely faster than the fly eats them .
Some yes, it depends partly on the species and to complicate matters sometimes just on the individual .

I have cleared more ground and planted more milkweed. I also have trays of different kinds of milkweed sprouting inside. I bought a heat mat to see if it would help the seeds sprout sooner and I can safely say yes because most of the seeds have sprouted...
