We have a Garmin c550, which we like very much. We are getting a 2nd car, and hence we need a 2nd GPS. I'm opting to get a second c550 instead of a more recent model because
the screen is nice and bright

In the file system, there is a directory gpx that contains a file called current.gpx that has an XML file with all the favorites in it .
Got the 2nd GPS unit yesterday and plugged both into the computer .

Does anyone know how to update the firmware on a garmin c550 where2 back to the original c550 firmware? I did the update and the GUPDATE.GCD file is on the unit, but it won't update. I'm assuming that on the where2 system the file is named something different...

I don't know how I managed 2010 maps on the C550 ....
Do you have the 2009 map set on the c550 internal memory and the 2010 US map set and Mexico map in the unit that covers the Mexican lat/lon readings the GPS is receiving.

I've had my Streetpilot C550 for four years, and have updated software and maps only once, back in 2006 or 2007. Recently I signed up for a "lifetime" annual map update and at the same time as I applied the latest 2011.10 map database update...

As Jack Erb mention it, the GARMIn C550 is not accepting route, so it simply
ignore it, whatever but the C550 manual makes no mention of that.

The primary map is contained in the C330's "Garmin" folder fine on a C550, but I'm not sure the C3....
Anyone know anything about this? Disclaimer: These procedures are not sanctioned by Garmin lifeline if things get really messed up.
