I want to paint my kitchen cabinets...and trim as well. What kind of paint would work best. Obviously, this needs to be pretty durable. Some help please?

I posted a few weeks ago about possibly adding on to my house which will include a kitchen upgrade. I got a sketch and will be talking to a builder tomorrow.

Whats your guys opinion on that. The cabinets in my kitchen need to be redone. I was going to sand to almost bare wood then stain and varnish. I am also thinking about painting them instead. But then I would paint all the trim in my kitchen. I don't know...

I used to buy all kinds of cabinet to sand/prime/sand/dust caulk and paint, after sanding/staining and varnishing a complete kitchen the kitchen....
Get an idea of what you want to do.

Painting some old kitchen cabinets with 25+ yrs. of dirt and grime built up on them. I'm talking nasty, I mean I can literally scrape away the grime and it will come off in sheets. I know I need to get all the grime off, but my dilemma is how do I efficiently...

I'll check with SW in Halifax, I don't buy SW paint but do get my sprayer thinner or paint thinner will cut it faster....
Ended up using paint thinner on rags and sometimes a 4" filling knife to get widely available here.
Subsidized apts.

I am thinking about restaining my kitchen cabinets. The wood is in great shape, it's just that my wife would like a darker color. The finish now has a shiny polyurethene finish over the stain. Can anyone give advice on how to strip the old stain and polyurethene...

I'm considering a similar refresh to my kitchen on the cabinets because the wood is still....
Refinishing is major work, but you can veneer "tape" for other exposed surfaces .
Fronts along with new veneer over the rest of the cabinet.

I am painting the inside of my house. I am having a difficult time deciding on a color for the kitchen. The cabinets are a honey/golden oak color and it seems no matter what color I use it makes them stand out and I'm trying to not put the focus on them...

Set the painted scrap oak pieces up in your kitchen and test them in....
With a knack for color matching go in and pick up some swatches, take them home and see what you them on a scrap piece of oak that is like your cabinets.

They can find a paint colour that will highlight your....
First choose a really nice fabric that goes with your cabinetry, then bring it to the paint store.
To a Roman shade - it'll let more light into the kitchen and update the style.
