You'll need separate red/white leads for the sound....
This is the only way that you can connect the video to the telly.
"Component" cannot connect try linking to those.
They carry analogue video signals that are often fairly high quality .

What I do is put the blank dvd in, flick to the relevant av screen til it give me the grey screen for dvd then I flick back to HDMI to get into my sky planner, select the film then record on dvd If i'm thinking right....

Brand new Xbox 360 250GB, came with a Scart connector cable, which seems to work fine. However, when I replaced this with a HDMI cable, there is no audio when playing a DVD. Seems OK when gaming, so only DVD. Help please.

Most laptops require ARCANE in my laptop when i connect the cable to laptop just like when u connect any other devise I connected HDMI....
Such as if that HDMI cable and port works OK on your DVD/BD/Cable box.

Just put the other "audio a hdmi cable....
If you use the same DISC player for DVD from the cable box to connect via SPDIF, so you don't have to switch back and forth.
That way you can get Dolby Digital from cable.
