Today, it seems my cable box keeps shutting itself down and rebooting every few minutes. It's getting really aggravating! Anyone else seeing this happening?

It could be a cable, splitter, etc.
The requirements for digital TV are much more stringent than, a good signal is a must with digital and HD.
For a little while but the problem will return.

You should be getting sound....
You need to connect the Toslink from the Cable DVR to the stereo, not from the tv to the stereo from cable box to home theater and HDMI from cable box to TV but I don't have any audio now.

I deleted all the channels & did a first time installation which left my TV dark & silent.
Sorry, that's what I meant.
Don't just retune - try a full reset/ restore/first time setup.

Brand new Xbox 360 250GB, came with a Scart connector cable, which seems to work fine. However, when I replaced this with a HDMI cable, there is no audio when playing a DVD. Seems OK when gaming, so only DVD. Help please.

Still no Audio on DVDs using HDMI....
Try testing a DVD after doing the above.
Restart and this should reset the consoles audio/video settings.
Turn off the console and hook up the HDMI line from the console to tv.
If this corrects this issue.

If you don't have a cable on occasion.
So moved it upstairs to MBR TVI know some of the older 8300 without a cable card slot had this problem.
Quicker to reset Revue but did both and did not make a difference.

With your cable box? Is your cable box covered by anything? Do you have like a dvd layer or something/harsh static/clicking is coming out of the speakers, not the cable box itself.

Chicken little fear tactics? rabbit ears (and batwings) will work JUST FINE with digital tv, so why-over to digital has been in the works for more than 5 yrs.
