QTKit Capture, as easy as it is to use, lacks the ability to set manual camera parameters like gain, brightness, focus....
I use this library for video capture from, and control of, CCD.
camera (like the old external iSight).

So the camera works just fine with Photobooth and even skype. But I'm on a website with a chatroom and there are no signs of life when I tell the Flash popup to ALLOW access to my camera and microphone.

On the Camera tab, set the drop down to choose the camera that says USB....
The list for me has DV video as the selected camera and I cannot application part of the chat room and click settings.
Minus the iglasses on the list.
