Just wondering if anyone else has dogs that have a job in life other than being fat permanent fixtures on one's floor or couch. (Which mine is currently doing.)

And if not, do they think we are like gods or something? They definitely know you are not a dog to be a "normal" dog, but he seems to judge other dogs and humans based on how active they are.

Do 'guard dogs' ever actually do what they are supposed to...? I keep reading about how dogs can guard their 'masters' property... but our dog is practically useless. He doesn't bark as such, he just wags his tail and disables the burglar by making him...

Although most guard dog breeds worth their salt will at least): Gsd owner (uk)....
Many dogs will bark, growl, etc are professionally trained to do this.
Even then, there's a chance the dog wont succeed as a guard dog.

There's a new puppy arriving in my family very soon.
There's some confusion over when it can mix with the other dogs in the family, including mine.
The breeder says it will have it's first needles at 7weeks and second at 11 weeks, then it'll be another...

I know Wolves and Coyotes can mate with Dogs but I never heard of or seen anything about Foxes mating with Dogs or Dogs mating with Foxes? When its mating season does your Pet Fox ever attempt to mate with a female Dog? Or vice versa your male Dog trying...

However, dogs can and do successfully hybridize with wolves and coyotes.

Do you have to brush a dogs teeth? I was just wondering if you have to brush your dogs teeth. I don't want to waste the time and money of doing that. Can you just give them those dental sticks or whatever and be good?
