Do not sell them in the shells or remove the shells from the water or try and get them out by force .

Yeah, I've got 1000. It was pretty simple really. The sun medals aren't a big deal at all - you get them from finishing a boss fight with the sun dude alive + there's a chest with like 3 guaranteed ones.
