I'm looking for the easiest way to connect to my computer and servers at work (all using Windows) from my iMac (using Mac OS X.5) at home, without having to use a VNC or LogMeIn.
It's a small network using a Router with VPN.

VPN clients that support IPSec but not support Mutal Group Auth cannot....

Edition: VPN PPTP is supported (Why is it so important to know the "Mutual Group Authentication" to the IPSec protocol.

From a security perspective VPN is best because you can define access list rules. Unfortunately Logmein, GoToMyPC type services are the only other choices.
If your boss is looking to connect from Home you could try a site to site VPN connection via home...

If this was a corporate environment, I would use hosts] full access, then it can change the permissions....
To enable RDP the Everyone built in group be used.
Make it an administrator and add it to the Remote Desktop Users Group.
And password.

Machine will have only one account and I guess a Work group will do of the Network so I can....
Clients their work group is the same name as of the domain,
including my own computer so I can access that feature.

It sounds like your CEO wants access to their desktop remotely (RDP). Most VPNs are just as easy to use as GoToMyPC et al but they are also a bit more than you need to secure a simple RDP session.
Tom brings up a good point about using more than username...
