Hi,
I like to compile photographic records of the routes of "lost" canals as they are today using old maps, books, articles etc to identify the routes and provide source material for 'then and now' shots.

My layout has a section of canal on it for which I need to model some water.
I have a test section made which has been painted and now has a substantial amount of PVA drying in the hope of it becoming transparent but I wondered if anyone had any other...

One other tip - if your canal goes to the edge of the layout, rather than masking surface will work if you don't want to see any detail below water level (given how murky some canals are this might be right) for a clean....
The "water" is dry.

Yeah crayfish, I used to be able to find them in small canal ditches down here in the past..
BTW, I only at a lake near me.
Weight you have to use but seeing how your fishing canals you can get away with light ones.
