It doesn`t have any Java-specific meaning.
The word "canonical" is just a synonym for "standard" or "usual".

Canon 50D 18-200mm IS kit
Both body and lens in good condition but do show minor signs of wear. In the viewfinder of the body there is a small hair top left (I've tried to photograph it) and some other dust - doesn't affect pictures, purely a viewfinder...

Great, now we have the GX1 and a G1X. Way to go Canon. And f/2.8-5.6? I can't imagine anyone but diehard Canon fans would choose that over the alternatives. And no interchangeable lenses. Just not a real alternative to anything but compacts.
