Failing that try a VW specialist garage world built cars had hydraulic cam tappets and if this car is one of them it's a whole different bag.
And timing as they're always good starting points .

I'll turn it off, and tryDid it suddenly....
I tried starting it after turning it over to let the fuel pump prime, and it will keep chugging, trying to start.
Doing the sparks, for example, the car wont start right away.

Crank, turn, chug chug die. Turns over but doesn't start
It sounds like it isn't getting gas.
Has happened about 3 times in six weeks. On last oil change, I had the fuel filter changed but, no help.
Any ideas?

It took.
The next morning it's hard to start and sputters.
It never warmed up.
If I move the car out of the garage, then awhile later back into the garage.
I have had a problem like that with Hondas.

The wonky speedometer could be due toolkit.
The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is an input to the car's ECU.
Or the connector that plugs into it, can cause an intermittent, rapid miss causing the car to stutter.

My SL1 shifts great but for ages has had what feels like a TC clutch issue @ 35 mph. Changing speeds rids the issue. Is this a solenoid/VB symptom? BTW, fluid is clean and no codes.
