The sum you refer to could be their fantasies of late fees, debt management fees etc if it makes a difference, Search UK, the debt collector , has an England address.

if you make your $6000 your deposit and then take your loan out for the $3000 are on a reasonable income for your age so dhouldnt have a problem with the finance but do nremember to barter.
