Recent Iowa State University survey indicated that 40% of their students underestimated how much they owed. One in eight didn't realize that they had debt.

What do y'all think? Should congress let the temporary lowering of student loan rates expire, or utilize the GOP-backed plan to keep the student loan rates lower, but cut into funding for women's health to pay for it? Or find some other way to balance...

If your interest rate was 3.4%, you'd be paying $4525 in interest so you're saving about 5k - that's just not right .
Why not cut something loan.
I don't get why it has to be student loans OR women's health.
Though it sucks.

Between the two of us we pay $1000 a month .
And his school is covered by the GI Bill with a certain amount of student loan pay back.

Why is there a debate that we should NOT increase the interest rate on students loans from 3.4% to 6.8% in these times of ultra-low interest rates?
My bank gives me a whopping 0.10% on savings. ING Direct gives less than 1%. On a loan that can never be...
