I try to play sound from my monitoring application, which is an xp virtual machine on VMware ESX 3, on a physical machine with a real sound card, but I can not add from the ESX console sound card.
Currently, I transmit sound with opening an RDP session...

Sound is, as you already know, supported through RDP though.

First of all many thanks to Ultima who made this installation possible by modding the program.
Alcahest mentioned sound service change once but Ultima made it possible...

It was not hard to get everything back to normal though .
It didn't work: after reboot, there was no tray icon and I couldn't the sound card driver and McAfee as well.
HD sound card (Yamaha AC-XG WDM).

They have a kernel-mode driver, you'd be able to directly poke the sound card hardware, but at this point to be custom....
