We are expecting our first in about 6 months and are beginning to understand the expenses. I am in the Boston area and costs look to be approximately $400 per week, which was a bit of a shock (although I suppose I didn't much think of it beforehand).

For a six month old.
Near Chicago, for two kids under 4, I paid.
We only only do 2 hours a day.
Private Day Care.
$10 per hour We pay $10/hour month old.
Pre-school is $250/wk.
$160/wk in San Diego for day care.

There are some male ECEs who work in licensed child care centres so I don't see why you couldn't your questions...

I have a question for the Mama's who work and use a child care service. If a mom in your area was advetising home based child care would you be interested? Especially if it would save 50% or more? WHat if they guarentee the same thing you might be getting...

I have been to some licensed that I would never allow my child to attend to an at home licensed....
Even if it was an in home provider, they needed to be licensed for my child licensed or not.
I always used a licensed care provider.

So I am starting to think about child care and maternity leave. Just wondering what everyone is doing and how much time they are taking off. My maternity leave is not paid, so I am not sure how much time I will be able to take off.
