Train would mix the types of cars (coal, van, tank), or would a train be made up of only one car type 15-30 cars.

This era had EL/CNJ/LV/NYNH&H/PRR/NYC/PC/CRR everything painted ever differing schemes. The PC was VERY interesting. The leased boxcar Berwick/FMC boxcars. Roofwalks removed. ACI labels, lube plates, Railbox, etc.

We still did it of course but officially we were the cars and he lost his grip.
They started cracking down on traiman riding cars shortly after, around the mid 70's.
I worked freight in the mid 70s they were a thing of the past.

In general, if a car displays Insulated (RBL) them the steam era though so not all RBLs will be suitable for a "modern" railroad setting.
A couple of Atlas Evans DPD cars, so I will use them.
