Since the weekend I have noticed a knocking noise whilst driving, usually at speeds of around 20-40 mph, but not when doing 70mph on the motorway.
It is a knock knock knock, coming from the near side front, thought it was something in the glove box but...

So I have got to put with....
I usually take become less rigid and the knocking noise is coming from the dash or the glovebox.
Have known these fail on many cars and give a knocking noise at low speed.

Or a bolt missing....could sound like a knocking or ticking noise...and then of course what everyone else some one holds the brake?Does the knock get worse with more rpm's ? check your fly wheel make sure bolts too.

Have a very slight knocking noise at slow speeds over rough ground, is this common as I had a 07 octavia 1.9tdi elegance and it had the same noise, it seems a little easier to hear tho on the vrs with the bigger wheels, ...

Bushes are shot as well as I can 'feel' the knocking through the steering wheel as well as being able to hear it.

Ok so i have an 06 m45 wit about 80k on it. There is a knocking noise coming from the engine while idle and while excelerating. It isn't loud and can barely be heard while the radio is on, but it is bothering me. I know knocking noises can come from pistons...

There's a loud knocking sound from the passenger side front wheel well area.... could be under the car too but its def from the passenger side front area. it's rythmic and the pattern is proportional to speed (faster i drive faster the banging).

If I heard it knocking I would walk away.
To check for engine trouble with those cars was to put the car in drive and with a foot firmly on the brake give it gas.
