This question has probably been ask before but I can't find it in the archives. Can I put Sram's new ten speed cassette on my 9 speed hub? Does it require a 10 speed specific chain?

All you need to do is change the cassette and run I can switch to a 10 speed cassette....
Lou is correct, the 10sp cassette is the same width as the 9sp, just narrower spacing between rings.
Hub yes, you will need a new 10sp chain though.

I though that the cogs on the 10 speed cassette were a bit thinner to allow for the extra cog, and keep the overall lengh the same,
i went from 9 speed to 10 speed on my nukeproof hub with out any problems,.

The AG went out of production in the early 1980'sI am not aware of a cassette, disc, and dynamo combination...

2) Buy a 9spd the 8-speed steel cassette you will tear up the alloy spines in the freehub.
You have 2 options
1) Buy the Ti 8g one.
On the 8g steel cassette are not deep enough.

Item: DT Swiss EX 5.1 on DT 340 hubs. Minions front and rear. Comes with 9 speed 12-34 cassette, almost new. 135mm Rear, 15mm Front.

the bearings on the freehub cassette body are going; time for a new
rear on the cassette or chain but there isn't much you can do about
that.

Hello all. Last few bits of the bike I split for my friend are available.
For sale is this rear wheel. It's a Mavic 231 rim on a Shimano M900 XTR hub. Also included is the M900 XTR cassette. The hub is nice and smooth and the rim has lots of life left...
