Avid doesn't require a tape name to do its part, and therefore has no idea that ... .
Resolve is demanding that all media has a "tape name" tag -- even if the media didn't come from a tape .
To be fair: the issue is more complicated than pinning it on Avid .

This is the key, you guys may be going slightly extended to extended oil change intervals but you are checking it. Which gives you a history, allowing you to know if it is using oil or not.
I always wonder if these people go shopping with out checking...
